Christmas and New Year How was if for you?
Christmas, the word itself used to bring me out in a rash..... ,but seriously, the hype, the stress, the panic, is it all worth it? Christmas 2018 was my busiest one to date, with a new line of Christmas candles and being involved in an extremely successful pop up, for the first time in a long time it has gone by me in a flash.
It didn't help that I got the worst flu ever just before Christmas eve, but I think that was my body's way of telling me to stop, rest and chill out over the festive period, which I did, Netflix, lots of good books and food were the highlight of the two weeks. Even Santa managed to find our tree among all the clutter.
We didn't overspend on food so we had very little food waste, we shopped local for our Christmas gifts and instead of writing Christmas cards I made New Years Card to send out to family.
New Year new you, four words that make me cringe upon hearing them. I use New Years eve as a time for a reflection on the previous 12 months and what a journey they have been. I use New Years day to plan ahead and write down some small intentions that I would like to happen.
One of those intentions was that I don't have to prove myself to anyone, I am in charge of my own destiny and that I am responsible for my own happiness.
Of course I still do have days when I may have a mini meltdown over something small, but I take a step back, deep breaths and let it go.
January brings with it new challenges, and one of those is Showcase, it comes around quickly, but I find that its always a good idea to have prepared for it 6 months before Christmas, so that after Christmas there is just paperwork, printing and stand design and layout to finalize.
I am excited, nervous and grateful for what the next few weeks will bring, for now I will be ironing my dresses, getting my car packed up and focusing on what exhibiting at this event will bring to my business.
On wards and upwards.
